The Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium is available for exclusive rental year-round. Some of our guests have included First Lady Laura Bush, Former President Bill Clinton and King Abdullah of Jordan. Recently, the building has been host to the 50th anniversary of NATO, the E7 Conference, a State Dinner for the Emir of Qatar and the signing of the U.S. - Australia Free Trade Agreement.

Auditorium
The auditorium boasts 14 large cement cast columns and resplendent gold leaf detailing in addition to 65 foot ceilings. This room is often used for meetings and conferences from 40 guests to 1000 guests as well as gala dinners from 200 to over 650 guests.

Green Rooms
The Center, East, and West Green rooms are included with the auditorium rental and boast rich green hues, detailed paneling, grand windows and chandeliers - the perfect location for VIP receptions, small break out rooms for meetings, a dessert buffet or more intimate gatherings. These Green Rooms are also available separately from the auditorium and include use of the lobby as the entry point.

Lobby
The grand, marble Lobby, and main entry point to the auditorium is accessible through the decorative wrought iron gates detailed with gold leaf, and is available for receptions as well as a registration area for guests.

Hallway & Outside Balcony

For security reasons, a written request to utilize the outdoor balcony must accompany your application for site use. Approval or denial of the use of the outdoor balcony will be provided at the time of contract.

Exterior
Located between 12th and 14th Streets, NW on Constitution Avenue, the Mellon Auditorium is directly across the street from the National Mall, within walking distance of the Washington Monument and the White House and on the South Side of the Federal Triangle. The auditorium is accessible through the Federal Triangle Metro Station, or metered parking along Constitution Avenue.
